Kristi grew up in a small town near Madison, Wisconsin. When we met on the first day of our senior year of high school, I knew that she was the love of my life. I am grateful for every day that I spend with her, and am excited to love and raise a child with her.
Kristi is one of the brightest and most hard-working people I know. Because I’ve known her since high school, I saw how driven she was to do well in high school, college, and graduate school, and how hard she worked to pass two bar exams. Kristi is happiest in her job as a lawyer when she’s tackling challenges and helping other people solve dilemmas. She inspires me to work hard and do well in my own life, and I know she will inspire our child, too.
Kristi loves spending time with her family – especially me and our dog, Leo. She shops at farmers’ markets and cooks meals with me, and we hike, travel, and watch movies together on evenings and weekends. She also cuddles Leo and takes him for walks, and is always the first to notice when he needs special care.
Kristi also cares a lot about our extended families and friends. Some of our closest friends and family live in other parts of the country, but Kristi sees and talks to them regularly, and shows them around the Bay Area when they visit. She will travel many miles to visit a friend just because that friend needs support.
Kristi spent a lot of time with her younger cousins while they were growing up. Although they are adults now, she still gets together with them whenever we visit Wisconsin. As nieces and a nephew have become part of our lives, I love watching her interact with them. She can’t wait to spend time with them when we see them, and I enjoy seeing the excitement and smiles she brings to their faces as she plays with, talks to, and reads to them. I can’t wait to see her caring for and interacting with our child in the same ways!
Kristi grew up camping, canoeing, and water-skiiing with her family, and she loves being outside. She often finds new places for us to hike or picnic on the weekends, and plans trips to explore national parks. Kristi is excited to spend time hiking, exploring, and picnicking with our child. I can’t wait to see her pushing our child in a stroller, playing with our child on a blanket in the park, and encouraging our child on a hike. As our child grows, Kristi dreams about taking him or her camping and canoeing with family, and of traveling with him or her to national parks and other places.
One of Kristi’s favorite things to do, when we aren’t spending time outside or cooking together, is reading. She loves to curl up with a good book. She can’t wait to fill our child’s room with books and read with him or her. Kristi also taught herself to sew recently. She made baby quilts for our nieces and nephew, and she is looking forward to making one especially for our child. She also wants to hand make Halloween costumes for our child.
I have long been looking forward to building a family with Kristi and seeing her care for and love our child. I am especially excited for hiking together as a family, cooking and sharing meals together, watching Kristi read stories with our child, playing on the floor with our child, and taking family trips together.
