Hello, from Sunnyvale, CA! We have been dreaming of starting a family since we first met. We are looking forward to a precious bundle to grow our family. We believe in openness, honesty, and that children thrive with more people to love them. Open adoption is the perfect fit! We met in Canada as coworkers while working our way through college. Marc first thought he would get to know Christina with the smooth pickup line “Do you like baseball?” but did not anticipate her succinct reply of “No”. Those baseball tickets went unused, but a few weeks later we managed to go on our first date and have been together ever since, now going on 17 years.
These years have afforded us the time to develop a strong relationship, pursue our education, build careers, travel the globe, and achieve financial stability. We have embraced our love of travel and take every opportunity to experience someplace new. During our early 20s we went to live aboard cruise ships for two years. We returned to Canada, ready to settle down and start a family. We have so much love to share. Our nieces and nephews can attest to our love and strong family bonds. Our pets think we’re pretty great, too! We relocated to California in 2015 after Marc was promoted and have loved every minute since. We have embraced life in the Bay Area, traveling all over this great state on many road trips getting to know all that it has to offer. We know that this will be the perfect place to raise a family.
Christina is the most loving and caring person I have ever known. I grew up in a loving family who supported me very well, but I did not know how much someone could sacrifice for another until I married Christina. It may sound cliche, but Christina truly is my best friend. There is nothing I would rather do than spend time with her. We love going to sporting events, on amazing trips, or to the theater. Or, we just stay at home and cuddle watching TV. Christina loves animals of all shapes and sizes. We have two adorable cats, but might own a whole zoo if Christina had her way.
Christina is extremely supportive. We have made two major moves for my job, from Edmonton to Toronto, and from Toronto to Sunnyvale. She supported me fully on both occasions, putting her own career on hold. I believe Christina will be an amazing mom. She has enormous capacity for caring. I see her interact with our nieces, nephews, and children of coworkers and I am bewildered at how naturally she relates to them. She loves to play with them, and loves to bake with them like her mother did with her as a child. I hope that one day she will be able to share that love and caring with a child of our own.
Marc shines bright in any room. People are drawn to him and his booming laugh. You can’t help but feel comfortable and welcome in his presence. He is quick witted and will always get a laugh. I feel privileged to be Marc’s wife. He is devoted to his family, taking late night calls to help his parents and grandparents. His dedication to work has seen him promoted countless times. His support allowed me to go back to school and pursue my dreams. Through listening, words of wisdom, and a touch of the trademark humor and one of his wrap-you-up hugs he can make all problems melt away. Whether we are hiking, traveling, or just watching Netflix, there is no one I would rather spend time with.
Marc grew up in a family with a passion for sports! Whether it was watching, playing, or volunteering, sports were a big part of the household! Marc’s passion for sports goes beyond athletics. He learned teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship, which makes him not only a great teammate, but also a great husband and future father. He will be the most patient, kind, and proud little league coach! As a father, Marc will provide an amazing life full of laughter. With Marc’s love our child will bloom!
We recently bought our first home Sunnyvale, California. Our town is between San Fransisco and San Jose and a 15-minute bike ride to Marc’s office at Apple, he quickly pops home for lunch and after work. Christina runs her own thriving private practice, which gives her a lot of work flexibility. She has a home office filled to the brim with children’s toys that she uses for treatment. With plans to be a stay- at-home mother, these toys will still be put to good use with our little one!
Our home is a short distance to the local park and hiking trails where we often spend weekends. We have a great back yard that our dog, Pretzel, loves to run around for hours! Our home is filled with sunshine. We can picture nothing better than naps with our future baby on a lazy afternoon after a traditional Sunday morning breakfast. We can’t wait to sing, read, and count little toes in the little nursery nook in our master. We look forward to hearing baby giggles as they take their first steps chasing cat tails down the hall. Days at home involve spending time out in the yard, inviting friends over for game nights, or relaxing and watching our favorite sports teams.
ART, MUSIC, & THEATER We look forward to our child’s squeaky recitals and drawings displayed on the fridge with pride. We look forward to their first musical and trip to the museum.
SPORTS & TEAMWORK We expect to continue the family sporting tradition. Marc will coach! Teaching our child determination, teamwork and sportsmanship.
FAMILY Our extended families are back in Canada, but they love to visit California when winter arrives. Grandmas are retired and looking forward to snuggles, giggles, sports, and recitals.
PASSION FOR LEARNING We hope to teach our child about the world around them. Reading amazing book series together is always better with snuggles. Science experiments are always better when messy. History, culture, and diversity are always better when lived.
TRAVEL & ADVENTURE We will show our child all this world has to offer! We will share our love of travel with road trips to Disney, plane trips to Canada, and more.
NATURE & ANIMALS Our lives will include afternoons playing in the sunshine and reading in the shade. Swimming, hiking, and learning about nature. Roasting marshmallows is the best part of camping. Loving animals, and getting their own furry friend.
