We both come from big families with lots of siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Motty grew up in a big Russian-speaking Jewish family with lots of love and warmth.  He learned from his parents the importance of family first and mutual support.  And as the son of immigrants, he learned the importance of appreciation and respect for other cultures.  We travel to New York City several times a year to visit his parents, siblings, and our many young nieces and nephews.  Being there for the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Passover is especially important to us!  His mom cooks for days and we can’t miss it!

Tim grew up in a large extended family in Bakersfield, CA.  Family holidays and traditions were especially important in his home, and we make sure to not miss Christmas or the Fourth of July celebrations!  There have always been adopted members in Tim’s extended family, which is why we felt strongly about the adoption process.

We also believe strongly in the concept of a chosen family, and our friends are incredibly important to us.  Your child would be surrounded by love.
