Meet Chrissy & Addy

We live in Alameda with our dog Revi and daughter Lena. We met in Tahoe when we were in our early 20s, and we’ve been growing and discovering new things together since then. We have always believed that adoption would be part of our family. We look forward to hopefully meeting you and learning more about you!

We have a dog named Revi, who we adopted in October 2017. He is now certified as a therapy dog and works at the elementary school with Chrissy a couple of days a week!

All About Us

Chrissy has 15 years of experience in education and social work with foster/adopted youth and their families. Addy’s family is created with adoption on both sides. We love spending time with friends and cooking meals at home. We also like biking and hiking together (with Lena and Revi too). We both enjoy swimming, going to the beach, and occasionally paddle-boarding or kayaking. And we are big readers, with each of us having our own separate book groups.

About Chrissy

Chrissy was born in Boston, grew up in New Jersey and Arizona. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Davidson College. She then moved to the Bay Area in 2009. She loves going on walks in nature, taking a yoga class, writing short stories and creating art projects. What makes her such a great mother is she is honest, open and wears her heart on her sleeve. She knows herself very well which allows her to focus on the needs of others when she’s with them. She is fun, patient and can’t wait to share with another child all the things she is learning now. Chrissy has been working as a school social worker for the past ten years, building on her background of teaching kindergarten and first grade Spanish immersion. She loves supporting her students, families, and teachers in building positive connections with themselves and each other. She also provides therapy for children and families through her private practice.

About Addy

Addy was born and raised in Vermont. He got his love for music from his family who were musicians. He received his degree from the University of Vermont. He enjoys being active and teaching our daughter all the things he loves doing like soccer, exploring nature and cities, and cycling. What makes him such a great and loving dad is he is both an “old soul”, and young at heart. He is and will continue to be an example of hard work, honesty, commitment and dedication to the little ones in his life. Addy has worked in Tech for over 14 years. He enjoys what he does because the projects are fast-paced and spread across the globe. Working remotely gives him the ability to spend time with family.

Our Home and Community

We live in Alameda, by the water, with great views of San Francisco and wildlife all around us. In our neighborhood, you see families walking around with their kids and dogs. We have great schools right around the corner. We get together with our neighbors regularly to celebrate birthdays, holidays or just a Saturday afternoon BBQ.

Our daughter, Lena was born in June 2022 and joined us in our shared love of hiking, adventuring, swimming, and especially food! She goes to daycare about a mile away from home and loves playing with her “classmates” and teachers there, as well as our neighbors, friends, and cousins.

Our Extended Family

Chrissy’s dad is from New Zealand and still has family there as well as in NY and in the UK. Her mom is from Brooklyn and has two siblings there and one in Oregon. Chrissy is the oldest of 3 girls and really close with her two sisters who now live in Virginia Beach and Florida!

Between the three sisters there are now five grandkids under the age of five, and we love connecting with both generations of cousins whenever we can.

Addy is the middle child of 3, with an older brother and younger sister, who live in Vermont with their spouses and kids. His dad has 4 younger adopted brothers and many of his older biological siblings also adopted, giving him 8 adopted cousins. His maternal grandmother is also adopted. His family has always been a beautiful and unique mix of people who form an incredibly tight-knit larger family.

We consider both our families to be very close and supportive of our lives; we truly love each other and enjoy spending as much time as we can together.
