Our Life

We have been together for 10 years and married for 3. We have always known that we want to adopt, and we are so happy to be in the right time of our lives to take that next step. At home, we enjoy cuddling up to read, waking up early to exercise, and living room dance parties in our pajamas. Jade is an OB-GYN and leads a program for newly pregnant patients. Gillian is a middle school Special Education Teacher. Cooper is our seven-year-old Golden Retriever who loves belly-rubs and cuddles.

Jade is nurturing, loyal, and a great communicator. Jade’s talent for cooking runs in the family and I am always in awe of how she can create new dishes on instinct. Jade’s commitment to working towards goals has shined through in everything from our morning workouts to our dream of buying a house. I know that Jade will raise a child who is confident, considerate and not afraid to follow their dreams.

About Gillian, by Jade

Gillian’s patience and playful attitude mean that when we’re with our friends, it isn’t long before she’s surrounded by their kids. Gillian loves to learn new things and is always in the middle of a book or podcast. I know that Gillian will raise a child who is curious, brave, and true to themselves.

Our Home

We feel very lucky to be new homeowners with a three-bedroom home in Redwood City. One of the things we like most about our home is the yard, where we spend time grilling, relaxing, and playing with our dog. On weekend mornings, you can find us taking our Golden Retriever on long walks and choosing new parts of the neighborhood to explore. We are within a 10-minute walk of our local school and of two parks that are always hosting family-friendly events.

Our Family and Friends

Our families were overjoyed to hear about our decision to adopt. They can’t wait to shower a grandchild with love! Jade’s parents have been enthusiastically picking out their “grandparent names.” Jade’s dad brings a special kind of support because he was adopted himself. Gillian’s parents have already started looking for houses nearby. Outside of our immediate family, we are blessed to be surrounded by caring friends, many of whom have children themselves.
