Our Life

About Lillie

I grew up in Massachusetts with a younger brother and lots of cousins nearby.

My mom is a now-retired public school art teacher, and my dad is a luthier—making bows for stringed instruments like violins (yes, really!). My mom and I still talk by phone most days, and they visit us often in California. My favorite childhood memories are at my grandma’s lake cabin in Maine. I studied Art History and French at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and then moved to California to explore the world. You’ll often find me reading a good book, enjoying my morning coffee, or working on a new art project.

Thanks to adventures with Mischa, I also love to run, bike, and go on weeklong backpacking trips. As a parent, I’m excited to share in slow walks, lots of storybooks, and family road trips.

Lillie has worked for years as a marketing & communications professional. She was also trained as an elementary school teacher and she’s fascinated by how children learn and grow.

About Mischa

I was raised in the redwoods of California with four siblings and lots of forest trails to explore.

My parents were both professional musicians, who taught us the power of creativity and practice. My mom is also an awesome vegetable and flower gardener. One highlight from growing up was the summer camp that I attended and worked at; we still visit there every New Year’s with dear friends! After high school, I went to Chapman University in Southern California and began my journey as a filmmaker. I love being outdoors and getting active, and you’ll often find me running, biking, surfing, fishing, river rafting, and hiking.

Thanks to life with Lillie, I also love to enjoy the magic of both summer and winter in New England. As a parent, I’m excited to share my enthusiasm for music, home projects, and outdoor adventures with our family.

Mischa produces documentary films and runs a creative agency, where he consults with values-driven businesses and organizations.

Our Home

We love our little home, located in a neighborhood near downtown.

There’s so much within walking distance—parks, shops, schools, restaurants, and more. Plus, Sonoma County has lots of outdoor access, and the ocean is just a half- hour drive from here! Our dear friend Kate lives with us, and she’s excited to support our growing family. We’re members of a local farm that supplies us with lots of veggies and herbs for home-cooked meals. Throughout the year, we spend time in both California and New England, visiting with both of our families in our hometowns, especially around the holidays.

Our Family & Friends

Our extended family—including our dearest friends—are a really important part of our life. We’re close with both our sets of parents and our siblings, plus a whole bunch of aunts, uncles, and cousins. This includes a growing number of young kids, too! Between both sides of our family, there are 6 little cousins now, and our very closest friends have young children too.

Our family is excited to welcome a new friend and family member!
