Giving up my baby for adoption was both one of the hardest and most rewarding things I have done in my life. When I was around seven months pregnant I decided that I wanted my baby to have a stable and loving home to grow up in. I looked at a lot of adoptive parent profiles and even meet with a few families. I found a couple rather quickly, and I felt comforted during such a hard time in my life.
Before I gave birth the adoptive couple met with me a few times where I lived, and I even went to see their home when I was around eight months pregnant. They were with me during my labor and delivery and gave me much needed support. While this was a very hard time for me, nothing can beat seeing the look of joy and happiness on their faces when I gave birth to my daughter!
My daughter is almost nine months old now, and we all stay in contact. We talk on the weekends, and I get pictures from time to time. I have visited and they have come to see me too.
I love the birth family and my daughter very much. Whenever I see a picture of her smiling face, I am glad that I went with an open adoption. Her adoptive parents are awesome parents, and I know she is going to grow up to be a good person.
