Meet Elaine & Colin

We both grew up in the Bay Area and have lived in different parts of it for most of our lives. We have been together for over 17 years and married for an amazing 12 years! We have a lot of love to give and can’t wait to grow our family through open adoption!

About Elaine

My wife is an amazing person, filled with love and compassion! She enjoys life in so many ways. She can begin with the seed of a niche interest and explode it into something that becomes a passion or a hobby she can fully dive into.

 

A day well spent could be a day gardening, attending a Valkyries game, going for a hike, or even curling up with a favorite book. Elaine loves finding new culinary experiences and museums to learn more about a place’s culture or see their art. In continuing to look for new things, she is a very open-minded person who thrives on different experiences, but she also knows to hold tight to things she loves. Our home is filled with her favorite books, artists, music, and much-loved toys. Elaine is a hard worker, someone who believes in giving her best and her all to projects. She is also a fair-minded person who wants the best for everyone and holds her friends dear, loves animals (especially our dog Tiki!), and growing things.

 

She will make a fantastic mom someday because she is kind, patient, caring, and nurturing.

 

Elaine earned her degree from San Jose State in Business Administration and works for an Industrial Distributer as a Data Analyst.

About Colin

My husband is a big hugger. He is a very warm and caring person to both our dog Tiki and me. He is supportive and provides care and strength to me and any of our friends and family. Colin loves to go hiking on the trails available in the Bay Area. He also loves to explore cities on foot, whether locally or abroad. While traveling, he likes to immerse himself in everything the area has to offer.

 

While Colin loves to be out and about, he also enjoys time at home. He hosts many get-togethers and game nights with our closest friends. He also enjoys quiet times reading a book, watching a movie, or playing video games!

 

Colin is very close with his friends, some of whom he has known since high school. They are our village, along with our family. He is always showing up for friends and family, being their biggest cheerleader.

 

He’s going to be a great father because he is so loving, fun, curious and patient.

 

Colin earned his degree in History & Politics from UC Santa Cruz and works in the IT sector as a manager, leading a team in Business/ Commerce Operations.

Our Home

We live in a quiet, small neighborhood near the Bay coastline. There are a ton of local shops and restaurants we love to visit! Our house is within biking distance of a great library, and we spend afternoons walking through the area. The yard has a bunch of fruit trees that bloom throughout the summer and autumn. Sitting in our gazebo after a barbeque and enjoying the evening breeze among the flowering trees is a great pleasure of ours. We love hosting people in our home, and look forward to introducing a new little member to the family!

Our Dog

Tiki is our rescued Chihuahua mix. She is 10 years old and she’s been a part of our family for 9 of them. We adore our dog! She goes with us wherever we can take her. She loves walks, curling up under blankets, running around on lush grass and many types of treats! She loves her pack and would be so excited to share cuddles with a little one!

Our Loved Ones

Elaine’s mom lives in the Central Coast, along with her brother and two nieces. Her sister lives in Louisiana. She has several cousins in the local Bay Area who are as close as siblings. Colin’s mom lives in San Jose in their childhood home, and his sister lives nearby in the East Bay. They see each other frequently, often for game nights, dinners or vacations!

 

Our extended families are tightly knit and they all support us in our journey of open adoption. Our found family of old and new friends is deeply loving and inclusive. This village is a part of our lives, and we believe that extended family is core to living a rich life!

We so appreciate you taking the time to get to know us. We have no doubt this is a challenging experience, so we acknowledge your courage. We are at a point in our lives where we are ready and prepared for parenting. We look forward to exploring our backyard, climbing trees, and sharing the things we love with a child.
