Meet Patrick & Joseph

Hello! We’re Joe and Pat. We’ve been together for ten years, and we live our lives focused on community, adventure, and laughter. We believe there’s no greater honor or joy than raising a child, and we can’t wait to welcome a baby into our home.

About Us

Where We Live

We live in a Victorian house in San Francisco, above a bookstore and just a block away from a park and playground.

Hobbies

We love to stay active by running and spending lots of time outside! Pat also enjoys acting and pottery and Joe is a painter.

Value of Education

We both began our careers in the classroom (Pat in middle school and Joe as an elementary special education teacher). We have stayed in the education field since and we believe in the power of a strong education.

Favorite Travel Destination

Too tough to pick! Our current favorite is Polynesia where we got to swim with humpback whales.

Hometowns

Pat grew up just north of Boston and Joe grew up in Wisconsin. We have found our forever home in San Francisco!

About Pat

Pat has been a middle school teacher, and he now leads an education nonprofit focused on college-access for low-income students. He loves running, acting in plays, and has a wide network of friends across the world that he keeps in touch with through trips, elaborate games (The Amazing Race is one of his favorites!) and conversations. Pat is going to be an incredible dad because he loves deeply. He has boundless energy and a laugh that is impossible to resist. He is grounded in his values and he inspires others to want to be their best selves. He loves adventures with family and friends, whether on another continent or in our own neighborhood.

About Joe

Joe taught elementary school for nine years before starting a new career in education grant-making. He is also an artist and turned our garage into an art studio. Life with Joe is active, funny, and adventurous; he’ll bring so much laughter and so many unforgettable experiences to being a dad. Joe will be a great dad because he is all in for the people he loves. He believes that kids should be free to be themselves and that they can overcome any obstacle when they have a foundation of unconditional love to draw strength from. As a father, he will build a child’s confidence and sense of self and be their biggest cheerleader.

Our Home

We live in an incredible neighborhood in San Francisco, just a block away from Duboce Park. We enjoy taking quick trips to Golden Gate Park and meeting up with friends; we are lucky that many of our best friends live close by, many with their own young kids
