About Me

I love quiet time at home, especially a hot cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Gardening has always been my favorite hobby, including shopping for plants, watering and watching them grow. I even enjoy pulling the weeds! I also love to cook and try to keep plenty of healthy homemade food in the house. My friends describe me as caring and warm to those around me. One of my friends described me as a “kind and intentional parent, instilling confidence, independence, and competence” in my son.

I’m a veterinary cardiologist. After college, I went to vet school and then completed several years of specialty training to focus on diagnosing and treating heart disease. My daily work includes examining dogs and cats, performing testing, and prescribing treatments to help pet owners keep their pets’ hearts as healthy as possible.

My schedule is somewhat uniquely flexible as I can arrange it however I want, giving me quality time to spend with my son.

My Son

When I adopted my son, I got to spend some time with his birth mother before birth. We still keep in touch to this day. Once she sent me a message that read, “Thank you so much for providing him with happiness.” I was so touched and am forever grateful to have ongoing contact with her.

My son is energetic, loving, and incredibly funny. He loves doing monkey bars at the park and taking music and gymnastics lessons. He thinks it would be so fun to have a little sister or brother to share his life with. I know he’ll make such a loving and caring big brother when I see how much he enjoys showing the younger kids at the park how to swing and build sand castles.

Our Family

My brother and his family live a couple of hours away. My son sees his cousins periodically. They’re a little older so they’ve taught him all the tricks of building Legos, sand castles, and train tracks. They also give him great piggyback rides. My mom lives closer to us, and we see her almost every week, getting together for fun or some ice cream. Around the holidays, our family comes together to decorate Christmas cookies and pick out a tree for our living room. Sharing time with family and friends is important for me.

Our Pets

We have four cats. Soleil and Zoe are outgoing and friendly, while Wendell and Levi are a little more shy – but they all like to wait by the breakfast table every morning for my son to slip them the last bite of his scrambled eggs!

Our Home

I live in Richmond, CA, very near the San Francisco Bay. We have a yard full of flowers in the front and a backyard with a big open play area and vegetable garden. There are several small parks nearby that have slides, swings, and monkey bars. The bigger park nearby has a steam train ride, a merry-go-round, and hiking trails. The community I live in has a huge Fourth of July festival every year, with rides just right for young kids, food trucks, bubbles, and chalk drawing. There’s also a Halloween festival every year, with face painting, live music, and trick-or-treating.
